How do I see social policy?

2013-01-07 -

Everyone should take responsibility for himself and for his family. A task of the social policy is to help to people who cannot take care of themselves and in the same time not to hinder those who can and who want to take care of themselves.
In the social care domain and the social services domain I support dignified and quality ageing and a dignified life of people with health disability.

This includes a right to live at home, to have accessibility of services which support independent life at home as well as move of patients from hospital care to home care and a right to have a chance for disabled and old people to find a job if they want and are able to work. The right-wing social policy also includes support of families, which want to take care of their relatives who need help – it might concern people with health disabilities, seniors or children.

In the domain of labor law policy I support minimal intervention to freedom of contract between an employer and an employee. I always enforce well-balanced laws and duties of the employee on one side and laws and duties of the employer on the other side. Unnecessary regulations which unreasonably violate this freedom of contract cause unemployment and harm individuals as well the society as a whole. I enforce and I will enforce modern flexible labor regulation which enables the employer and employee to find such agreement which would suit both sides.

New workers, welcome to the EU!

2/4/2013 -

The European Parliament adopted a report from the Bavarian MEP Nadia Hirsch on the integration of migrants in the Member States of the European Union. The report deals with the impact of immigration on the labour market and social security systems.

The number of the inhabitants in the Member States of the EU declines and it comes to the population aging. This is caused by low birth rate and a life expectancy is rising. Due to this fact immigration is generally welcomed as one of the solutions for shortage of economically active inhabitants. Above all, educated and qualified workers are welcomed.

We welcome those who are ready to find a job or start running their own business, simply those who actively want to contribute to wealth and value growth. The main motivation for the immigrants coming to the EU countries should be an opportunity to assert oneself, not an opportunity to exploit generous social security systems.

We agreed on the fact that we will give support to all measurements which will support integration of immigrants to the society, particularly regarding improvement of their language skills and education in general – applying not only for workers themselves but also for family members, in particular children.

During the discussion it has been pointed out that the support is mainly given to immigrant workers coming from third countries. Relocation of workers within the EU is not a solution to the shortage of economically active citizens in the EU – the number of workers will increase in one Member State but in other state they will be missed.

It is definitely a warning sign that the EU countries are not as attractive for immigrants as they used to be several years ago. Without any doubt the declining attractiveness of the EU countries is related to further regulations, increasing taxes and charges, and decreasing competitiveness. It should be understood as a reminder for all regulators and social engineers not only in Brussels.

Youth guarantee: A right to work?

2013-01-20 -

An inappropriate legal protection of employees protects unemployed against getting a job. The socialist party in the European Parliament currently proposed to introduce a right to work for young unemployed people. Instead of supporting education and flexibility of labor relations the socialist promote a right to work, thus an obligation for employers or a state to offer a work to each unemployed person. An idea that it is possible to create vacancies through regulations is utopian. By regulating a right to work will be spent further amount of money out of the budget. Furthermore, it will decrease young people´s responsibility for their own future.

The European Commission found an antidote to unemployment among young people. According to a new European Commission´s proposal, enterprises will simply have to employ them. 2012-03-30 -

Education, knowledge and skills are very important conditions for employment growth by young people. But it is not sufficient. Nowadays it is necessary to support business activities. It is neither a state nor the EU who creates jobs but entrepreneurs. We need to reform labor law, employee engagement as well as his dismissal need to be uncomplicated.
